World Radio Day is an international day celebrated on 13th February each year. The day was decided by UNESCO on 3rd November 2011.

Radio informs, transforms and unites us through entertainment, information and audience participation. The main purpose of celebrating World Radio Day is to spread awareness among the public and the media to raise the importance of Radio.

For 2025, the theme focuses on “Radio for Unity,” emphasizing radio’s role in fostering connection and resilience in a world marked by social and environmental challenges.

The day also aims to encourage radio stations to provide access to information through their medium and enhance networking and International co-operation among broadcasters.

The Radio is one of the most popular ways to exchange information, provide social interchange and educate people all over the world. It has been used to help people to engage in discussions on topics that affect them.

It is an important medium to celebrate humanity on all its diversity and provides a platform for democratic discourse. World Radio Day is celebrated every year with a special theme to make some goals and objectives more effective among the people.
