Good morning, respected principal sir, teachers and my dear friends.

Today, I would like to speak few words about ‘National Youth Day’ on Swami Vivekananda.

Today is 12th January, this day is celebrated as National Youth Day all over India. National Youth Day is celebrated in India on 12th January on the birth of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 Government of India declared the day as the National Youth Day.

Since 1985 the event is celebrated in India.

Swami Vivekananda real name was Narendranath Dutta. His birthday celebrated as National Youth Day. Swami Vivekananda was a Hindi Philosophers and a religious leader.

Hw was the promoter of spirituality, universal brotherhood and peace. His father Bishwanath Dutta was a famous lawyer. His mother was Bhubaneswari Devi. She was pious lady.

Swami Vivekananda met swami Ramkrishna Paramhans and accepted him as his guru. He established Ramkrishna Math and started Ramkrishna Mission to convey the message of Swami Ramkrishna. Swami Vivekananda was all rounders. Apart from being good in studies, he was also trained in Indian classical music and was a sports person too.

After his 1893 speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago, he was called the “Messenger of India Wisdom to the Western World”. In 1984, the government of India said that “The philosophy of swamiji and the ideals for which he lived and worked could be a great source of Inspiration for the “Indian Youth”. He was died on 4th July 1902.
